BROWN BAG TURKEY!

turkey2

Grandma’s method for a great moist turkey using a Brown Paper Bag.
1. Place your turkey into a roasting pan and rub the turkey with olive oil or melted butter.

2. Add about a cup and a half of water to the pan (add more when cooking if needed)

Brown Paper Bag’–Cut the large rectangular side out:

3. Tuck the brown bag over the turkey and tuck the sides of the bag inside the pan.

4. When you place the pan in your oven, have the legs facing the oven door (for even cooking). If this can’t be done, rotate the pan so you cook each side evenly

5. Cook the turkey according to the directions on the wrapper

6. About 1/2 hour before the expected completion time, check to see if turkey is browning…it should be ..if not, open the bag by cutting it..(open the bag a little).

7. When completed, and out of the oven, take the bag off the turkey and make sure you let the turkey rest before you cut it..(at least 15 or 20 minutes).

BON APPETIT! from our kitchen to yours. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
